A Father’s Testimony

My daughter lived 780 days (2 years and 2 months) and we often wondered after she died, if she knew Jesus.  She Did!  We know we will see her again and I hope her story will be a comfort to others who have experienced loss.  May God comfort you and bless you!

Westchester Men's Ministry - Christian Fathers

Emily was born on February 13, 2002 with Carnitine-acylcarnitine translocase (CACT) deficiency which is a genetic disorder that prevents the proper breakdown of fats.  This leads to excess ammonia in the blood (hyperammonemia), an enlarged liver (hepatomegaly), and a weakened heart muscle (cardiomyopathy).  Emily died on April 3, 2004 of cardiomyopathy.

Carolyn and Terence miss Emily very much.  We know that she lights up heaven just a little more with her presence but this world is that much dimmer without her.

God Bless!

New Transition Group – Free!

The economy is terrible and it has been for a long time.  Many people have lost their jobs and have found it very difficult to find another one, meanwhile they are struggling financially.  Everyone knows someone who has faced unemployment and seen its impact on one’s financial, social, and spiritual well-being.  My wife and I have been impacted and we’ve also become involved with a number of groups that bring together those seeking opportunities for fellowship, encouragement, and to share possible leads.

Recently, God has put it on our hearts to help those in transition, both male and female, through the Men’s Ministry.  So, in cooperation with the Community Bible Church of Yorktown, and their Coffee House Ministry team, we would like to announce a bi-weekly transition group.

Our first meeting will be Wednesday, October 10th, at Community Bible Church of Yorktown, NY.  Please come and bring a friend.  This is an introductory meeting and we hope to get your feedback.  Our goal is to ensure a supportive and encouraging environment.

Christian Suffering … Hope!

Great post for 9/11 by Doug Plank at Crossway Life

Crossway Life

In the middle of one of the most incredible chapters in all the Bible sits a very unsettling verse. Romans 8 comes at us with a torrent of promises and reveals to us the heights of Christ’s love and the depths of God’s immovable purposes. The Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of God the Spirit pens this treasure of a chapter. At the end of the chapter we read the following:

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? (8:35)

Beautiful. I’m with you, Paul. This is a great hypothetical question that obviously is answered by a resounding “no!”

Then comes verse 36:

As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

Many times when I’ve read this chapter and get…

Small Group Men’s Bible Studies Forming!!

Have you desired to just be around a few good friends that know you?  You might share a joke,  or something your kids are going through, or anything in between.  Then you’ve come to the  right place.

We are establishing small groups for the new year.  Small groups are the essence of this ministry and they are what allows us to ‘do life together’.  The setting might be different but we always spend some time in fellowship, Bible study, and prayer.

Interested?  Well, let us know by adding a comment to this post!

Men’s Retreat with PriorityOne

Great weekend everyone! We had our largest group ever, 16 people. One member of our group, Curtis, was baptized in the lake! We had a great time getting to know each other. It’s great to have good Christian friends. For those that couldn’t join us – we missed you!

Just posted some pictures on our facebook group. http://www.facebook.com/groups/43848377913/  Hope you enjoy. Here are just a few:

Finally, in the spirit of the weekend, here are 10 things I learned:
(1) Alhassan can play a mean game of frisbee golf.  After one of my throws he said “you aren’t very athletic are you?”  Thank brother!
(2) A letter in Vinny Coniglio’s last name is silent. Do you know which one?  Hint: It’s not the ‘C’
(3) John snores
(4) If you take a long time to drink your milkshake … make sure no one is around to continue to bring it up all weekend.
(5) Alhassan once shaved his head and John would for a $1000, any takers?
(6) Robert can’t drive a nail while wearing a blindfold, sunglasses and a funny hat
(7) Although it may have felt like it, we didn’t set a world record for the longest time between sinking a ball (other than the cue ball) in billards.
(8) Yves is fearless – zip line, swing, rope course …. bring it on!

(9) When you get baptized in Lake Champion, the Holy Spirit turns your potbelly into a six pack (Curtis)!

and #10….
(10) Yes Vinny, the water fountain works!

Come join us for one of our small groups this week.  Either Thursday evening or Saturday morning.  Send a note to learn more.
